ESN Valmiera, established in 2015, is an official representative of Erasmus Student Network in Latvia that represents Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. Its primary goals are to represent the interests of international students studying in Latvia and to help them become part of the local community. ESN Valmiera adheres to the ESN principle of students helping students by helping the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences students find buddies and by organizing events that give international students a chance to get to know each other better. ESN Valmiera together with ESN Riga and ESN Jelgava are the 3 sections that make up the national platform of ESN Latvia which has regularly attended Council of National Representatives meetings as well as been present at the Annual General Meeting.

Aims of ESN Valmiera:

  • Safeguarding the interests and rights of international students;

  • Encouraging their integration into the local community as well as ensuring their safety;

  • Organizing a buddy system for international students at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences;

  • Preparing trips, events and activities for students;

  • Advocating increased mobility in Latvia;
